Want to avoid your landfill costs?

For most producers, fly ash is a burden. Fly Ash is a waste of the production process that has to be managed, typically through landfilling. Managing the landfill and landfilling operations is expensive with cost for treatment, moving ash, environmental costs, and other costs associated with the landfill. We can relieve you of that burden by being your turnkey partner to alleviate all costs related to Fly Ash processing and landfilling.

We offer turnkey services for fly ash producers starting with assessment of produced ash for beneficial use, engaging beneficiation technology providers, financing and building processing plants, and storing and marketing the fly ash ready for beneficial use.

ABOUT Fly Ash
Other Uses of Fly Ash in Construction

Fly ash is now being used to make a new type of high performance asphalt paving called ASHphalt.  This is done by replacing 10% of the asphalt by Fly Ash.

Ashpalt offers numerous benefits as it reduces the cost of asphalt pavement, improves its durability, and provides better and longer performance.

Ashphalt works and is considered a game changer as it meets all criteria for beneficial use and good construction practices.

Fly Ash Brick is another use of fly ash in construction.  It has a significant impact in reducing embodied energy in masonry construction. It meets ASTM C-216 specifications and requires low maintenance.  It has a 1-hr fire rating, an R-value of 0.93, and perfect mortar adhesion.  It has been used by LEED architects in well know projects such as Freedom Tower (NYC).

LEED also pointed out some positive characteristics of fly ash bricks for Indoor environmental quality including thermal comfort, mold prevention, construction waste reduction, and long service life.

Fly Ash use in concrete

Use of fly ash in cement and concrete brings down the consumption of natural raw materials, hence, fly ash conduces environmental sustainability.  In addition, it reduces carbon dioxide emissions.

Fly ash naturally contains aluminum oxide and calcium. It can replace up to 50% of the Portland cement clinker.  By using Class C fly ash and adding special material, that number can be increased to up to 75%.

The pozzolanic effect from mixing fly ash provides strength and durability to concrete.  Fly ash can also replace sand or aggregate in the concrete mix.  This will result in improving several qualities such as permeability, elasticity, and resistance to alkali; as well as avoiding cracking and decreasing electric conductivity.  In addition, the resulting light weight of ready mix concrete gives it better heat resistance.

Uses of Fly Ash in Agriculture

Fly Ash has a great capacity for agricultural usage. Its mineral characteristics can improve soil health and harvest properties.  By mixing soil with up to 50% fly ash, the texture density and water capacity can be enhanced as well as acidity (or alkalinity), due to the hydroxide and carbonate salts found in fly ash. This will also provide crops with sufficient nutrition.

By adding fly ash to artificial soils, it can work as a natural fertilizer, as it contains elements of calcium, iron, magnesium, and sodium; which are necessary for crop nourishment. Also, in composting, Fly Ash can be used as a neutral catalyst for soil treatment.

As a pesticide, it was scientifically proven that fly ash can protect plants from more than 40 type of insects, or at least keep them away.

Using fly ash as a replacement to lime as a soil fertilizer can help in reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and preventing pollution.  As a soil stabilizer, fly ash has a good testing record in preventing erosion and toxic elements.
